Frequently Asked Questions

Testing and Its Benefits

What type of testing does Different Health offer?

Different Health offers advanced health optimization assessments focused on cardiovascular fitness, metabolic health, strength, and body composition. We also offer in-depth testing related to glucose control, sleep quality, nutrition, and stress management to help you understand and improve key areas of your health and performance.

What are the benefits of testing at Different Health?

Each session is tailored specifically to your individual goals, whether training for an endurance event, optimizing body composition, or improving long-term health. You’ll receive actionable insights and a clear plan to accelerate your progress.

How does VO2 max testing improve performance and longevity?

VO2 max is the strongest known predictor of life expectancy. A higher VO2 max correlates with reduced risk of chronic diseases and all-cause mortality, significantly improving both athletic performance and overall longevity.

Why is threshold testing important for endurance training?

Threshold testing identifies the precise intensity levels at which your body switches energy systems. This data allows us to build smarter, personalized training programs that boost endurance, accelerate recovery, and prevent overtraining.

What differentiates Different Health’s testing from a regular physical?

Traditional physicals primarily identify problems after symptoms appear. Different Health proactively targets optimization and prevention, detecting early signs of imbalance, and building personalized plans for long-term resilience and peak performance.

Who performs the testing sessions?

All sessions are conducted by PhD-level sports scientists and highly trained technicians with deep expertise in performance diagnostics and longevity science.

Testing Logistics and Preparation

How should I prepare for my testing appointment?

You’ll receive a detailed preparation guide via email before your appointment, covering specific guidelines to ensure accurate results.

What should I wear or bring to my session?

Please wear athletic attire and comfortable running shoes. We also recommend bringing a water bottle, towel, and a change of clothes.

Are there shower and changing facilities on-site?

Yes, we have private shower and changing facilities available for your convenience.

Are tests standardized or customized?

Every session at Different Health is fully customized to your unique health profile, fitness level, and performance objectives, ensuring maximum relevance and actionable insights.

How long does a typical testing session take?

Sessions typically range from 60 to 90 minutes, depending on your personalized assessment package.

Data, Results, and Follow-Up
